Multi Boot windows 8 and XP
Alright I must admit im an idiot
I installed windows xp on another partiion after I installed windows 8 to a different partition. Now I cant get my Windows 8 to boot up. I tried downloading and running EasyBCD and 8 still wont boot. What can I do to make my windows 8 boot? I dont even care if I lose my Windows XP partition..

Try these steps:
1. Download and install Visual BCD v.0.9.3.1 in XP.
2. On Desktop click "Dual-boot Repair", then "Automatic Repair".
This will make system boot to Windows 8 by default.
3. Install Visual BCD again in Win 8.
4. Run Visual BCD Editor, select "Create missing Windows loaders" from pop-up menu.
This will add XP to boot menu.
On reboot you shoud have Win8 and XP in boot menu.

Multi Boot windows 8 and XP
Hello. After 3-1/2 years, yet another XP dinosaur surfaces.
I am considering this same thing---adding W8.1 to an XP comp, and would like to know if 32-bit XP (and its 32-bit CPU) and a modern 64-bit OS can coexist.
(I will worry about whether it's permitted by the IP provider later.)
Thanks; Gregg

Short answer - no !
Longer answer, if you are intending running 64 bit Win 8.1 on a 32 bit Win XP machine it won't. Depending on the hardware on the XP machine you might get 32 bit 8.1 to run. 32 bit XP would run on a 64 bit 8.1 machine - either as dual boot or in a VM - but not the other way around.
